A really excellent place to visit when salmon are running. There will be a brown bear or two fishing the river edge. Photos are of pink salmon in the water. The amorphous mass in the one photo is bear scat. Gorgeous Forest. I can't wait to go back. Spectacular scenery not to seen anywhere. Out of a cruise, go to the library for free WiFi. There is a free bus service to see the Haines. Haines borough has more public clean toilets th as n anywhere I've been, the state ps egg ks snd forest service has made this an an amazing place to visit The parks and woods to quote one of my favorite poets "The woods are lovely dark and deep. "
