My family and I stayed her for a week and it was absolutely amazing. The view from the house is incredible! We watched numerous eagles soar through the river valley and even had a family of bears appear across the bank every night. The house had all the amenities we needed, and Erika (the house manager) was extremely friendly and accommodating. If I had to offer one criticism it would be that the loft bedroom desperately needs curtains. It was difficult to get a good's night rest when it was so bright in the room (since it doesn't get pitch dark during the summer). Also, a privacy wall between the rental rooms and the house would be nice so room guests can't see into the house when they're outside. Overall, it was well worth it and we look forward to coming back again one day. Great views and rooms Comfortable, clean, and super friendly owners. The view cannot be beat! Not to be missed. It was so good that we extended our stay from one night to a month in July of 2009. Fred and Sue Folletti, the owners, are very gracious hosts and welcomed us like members of their own family. This is the best way we have found to see Grizzlies in Alaska. Why spend thousands to fly to Katmai for a few hours. You can live here amongst them in complete comfort and safety, and view/photograph them in their natural state from your room or the adjacent covered deck above the Chilkoot River. Excellent fishing and spectacular views. This is what Alaska is all about. This is a destination accommodation.
