The hotel is very beautiful and historic (and supposedly haunted, though we sadly didn't see a single ghost!). The desk service is friendly and the restaurant serves delicious food (I had the duck). It loses one star though for not having wifi in the bedrooms and for the "continental breakfast" being less than expected, but overall a solid place to stay! Amazing! The staff was so kind and SO generous to us and our pets. The hotel was beautiful and boasted a ton of character and charm. The Captain's Burger was delicious! We would absolutely stay there again. I wish I could give these guys 10 stars. Nice atmosphere and service. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries and a beer from the local brewery. All of it was delicious. Gorgeous location! I had a small get together with friends, the waitress was very kind and accommodating. The food was delicious and the mojitos are some of the best that I have had! Very old, quaint hotel with comfortable beds. Nothing fancy, but clean and very neat. Loved the "old feel" of the place. Gina picked us up from the Alaska ferry dock at 2:30 a.m. and was so upbeat, considerate, and just very pleasant. Told us some about live in Alaska which was very interesting. The young woman working in the morning was also very helpful, and made us feel right at home. Had coffee and homemade coffee cake waiting in the lobby in the morning. Within walking distance of several places to eat. Sarah's coffee place had great coffee. Everyone we spoke to in this small community was so kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. The gentleman who owned the gift shop next to the Visitor's Center was very helpful, as were the people in the visitor's center. I recommend this place. We didn't have time to try the restaurant but looked like they had some very upscale, interesting dining options.
